This poem is published for the first time in the year 1860. This marvelous, patriotic lyric has written by poet Luka Saric. It is interesting that before music was written according to these lyrics, it probably would never ever come in to the “Anthology of the Patriotic Poems”, assembled in year 1904. by Vladimir R. Đorđević. Even than, unfortunately, poet Luka Sarić was not included within the anthologies of well-known Serbian poets. But, despite of that, his poem “To Serbia”, better known as “Oh Serbia My Dear Mother”, has found its way to the heart and soul of the citizens of Serbia. |
